What we collect, and why

The first conversation costs nothing. Bring a lot, a floor plan, or a sketch on a napkin, and we will tell you what it would take to build.

This page is a draft

[Drafted by BARKmedia and not yet approved by the studio. It describes what this website actually does, which we built and can check line by line. It has not been read by a lawyer. Treat it as a proposal until the studio has confirmed it and the date in the next section is filled in.]

Scope

What this page covers

This page covers this website: what it collects when you use it, who sees that, and how long it is kept.

It does not cover the studio's records for a project already under way. Those are governed by your agreement with the studio, which is a separate document and a longer conversation.

[Effective date to be set when this page is approved. If the page changes later, the new version replaces this one and that date changes with it. Nobody is notified of a change, because the site keeps no mailing list to notify.]

The form

What the request form sends

The request form asks for a name, an email address, a phone number, the kind of project, and a message. The first three are required. The kind of project and the message are optional.

The form also sends the address of the page it was submitted from, the website that referred the visit, and any campaign tags in the link that brought the visitor to the site. That is how an enquiry is attributed to where it came from.

The browser remembers the referring website and the campaign tags for the length of the visit, so that they survive reading a second page. They are held in the browser's own session storage, are cleared when the tab closes, and are not read by anyone until the form is submitted.

The request is emailed to the partners who run the studio. Nothing you type decides who receives it. The recipients are fixed in the site's own settings, and a submitted form cannot redirect itself to anybody else.

Two companies handle it on the way. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which serves these pages and runs the small program that receives the form. The email is sent by Resend. Both can see what is in a request while they are delivering it, and neither is asked to do anything else with it.

This site has no database. The program that receives the form hands it to the email provider and keeps no copy, and it writes no part of your request to a log.

[Our draft, please correct: after that, the request is simply an email in the studio's inbox, and it lasts as long as the studio keeps its email. Tell us if you would rather it were deleted after a set period and we will say so here instead. Either way, ask and we will delete it.]

Measurement

Analytics and advertising

As this page is written, this site measures nothing. There is no analytics account attached to it, no advertising pixel, and no third-party script of any kind on any page. Nothing here reports your visit to another company.

[Our draft, please correct: that will probably change. The studio should be able to see which work people actually stop and look at, and analytics is the ordinary way to do that. If it is added, this section is rewritten to name what was added and what it records, and that happens before it goes live rather than after.]

Cookies

What the site keeps in your browser

This site sets no cookies of its own, and there are no advertising or analytics cookies on it, because there is no advertising or analytics on it.

It does use two small pieces of your browser's own storage. One remembers the site that referred you and any campaign tags on the link you arrived through, so they survive you reading a second page. It is cleared when you close the tab, and it is sent to the studio only if you submit the form.

The other remembers that you dismissed the consultation bar at the bottom of the screen, so it stays dismissed on your next visit. It never leaves your browser and is never sent anywhere.

[To check at launch: whether the host sets a cookie of its own for security or for filtering out bots. If it does, it gets named here.]

Your data

What you can ask us for

You can ask what the studio holds about you, ask for a copy of it, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. There is no form for this and no account to sign into. Ask, and a person answers.

[Our draft, please correct: for now, ask through the contact page or by calling the studio, and it reaches the same two people the enquiries reach. A dedicated address for privacy requests would be the normal answer and the studio does not publish one yet. If you want one set up, we will put it here.]
